Awesome Con

Last weekend I was at Awesome Con – a media convention here in DC. I was there to moderate one of the Q&A sessions and a panel, but hung around to enjoy the con itself. Last year it was big, but this year it was twice as big. I think it may have reached 20,000 (10,000 last year). Having Shatner and Takei as guests didn’t hurt.

An Evening with Neil Gaiman In Washington, DC

At the last minute, a friend provided me with a ticket to see Neil Gaiman at DAR Constitution Hall. This was a pleasant surprise, and it turned out to be a very fun evening. I’ve always enjoyed Mr. Gaiman’s work, and he is extremely witty and charming in person. The man is a born storyteller, and last night’s event brought that home to me yet again.
