Feb, 2017 – A Sad Month for Fans of the Genre

February, 2017 was a rough time for science fiction fans. The Fast Forward team notes with sadness the loss of the following members of our community.

On February 10th, writer Edward W. Bryant, Jr. died at his Colorado home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then writer and editor Susan Casper passed away in her sleep on February 24th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also on February 24th, Baltimore area fan and Baltimore Science Fiction Society President Martin Deutsch passed away.

Nebula Award Nominees have been announced

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) has announced the nominees for the 2016 Nebula Awards. Winners will be announced at the 2017 SFWA Nebula Conference, to be held May 18-21, in Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to the nominations, Jane Yolen has been named a SFWA Grand Master.
