Fast Forward likes to spread the word about some of the special activities of our local science fiction club, the Washington Science Fiction Association (WSFA) – and here’s a notice of that will be of interest to many genre writers, editors and publishers.
The WSFA Small Press Award is currently accepting nominations for the 2018 competition. The award is given to original short fiction works (17,500 words or fewer) of imaginative literature (e.g., science fiction, fantasy, horror, speculative fiction or like literature) published by a small press. Works must have been published for the first time in the English language in 2017.
The deadline for submissions is April 8, 2018 before midnight (by 11:59pm) Washington D.C. time.
For complete rules, including an explanation of the judging process, who may submit stories for consideration, and the WSFA definition of a small press, go to the WSFA Small Press Award website at: http://wsfasmallpressaward.org/Share
