Fast Forward is very sad to hear that author Kate Wilhelm passed away on March 8th, 2018.
Ms. Wilhelm’s work first appeared in the 1950s, and she won many awards, including multiple Hugos and Nebulas. She and her husband, Damon Knight, helped found the Milford and Clarion writing workshops. She lived in Eugene, Oregon.

At the last minute, a friend provided me with a ticket to see Neil Gaiman at DAR Constitution Hall. This was a pleasant surprise, and it turned out to be a very fun evening. I’ve always enjoyed Mr. Gaiman’s work, and he is extremely witty and charming in person. The man is a born storyteller, and last night’s event brought that home to me yet again.

The Fast Forward team is deeply saddened to learn that Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the Discworld series, has passed away at the age of 66. Pratchett was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s several years ago, but continued to write books up through last year. He appeared as a guest on Fast Forward multiple times, and was always gracious, informative and humorous. His passing is a great loss to readers everywhere.
